Legacy Engineering, P.C., is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections along with surveying and consulting. We are headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia and proudly serve clients throughout the Commonwealth
As a Construction Material Technician, you will be traveling to various construction sites to perform basic soil and concrete tests under the direction of project managers and other engineering professionals to verify that the contractor’s work is performed in accordance with project specifications.
Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Project assignments will be within a 60-mile radius of our office’s and will be reimbursed for mileage.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Previous construction or field-testing experience (preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to read/interpret plans, specifications, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports within a set deadline
  • Experience providing excellent customer service
  • Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50+ pounds
  • Ability to work in all outdoor climates and mobility over various terrain.
  • Ability to maintain a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Attention to detail and quality, while adhering to all safety requirements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Use of company provided equipment and working knowledge of MS Office programs.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete
  • Prepare detailed reports (written and with a computer) and accurate test results based on field observations
  • Ability to communicate with clients, contractors, and project managers regarding jobsite issues or concerns
  • Safely use and maintain testing equipment
