Job Description The VDP Specialist is responsible for analysis, program design, coding and testing of format program according to customer submitted specifications. This position works directly with other team members to ensure quality control standards are being followed and customer objectives are met. High standards of quality control procedures must be strictly adhered to. An Associate Degree in Computer Science or Imaging Technology or the equivalent in education and/or work experience desired. Experience programming with Quadient’s Inspire Designer is preferred. High communication skills both written and oral. Problem solving skills are essential to this position. Responsible for developing and coding program logic, making decisions on fonts/image placement, and utilization of programmed logic. Self-motivation and strong organizational skills are required. Decisions need to be made to ensure customer requirements are met and to plan, set up, and communicate with related departments while handling order specific questions. Qualifications Excellent understanding of design and typography and the process of creating a publication through all its phases from concept through printing Very good experience in Macintosh desktop publishing (including such software such as QuarkXpress, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator) is required Demonstrated talent as a designer, including an understanding of the need to balance function and visual appearance to achieve successful communication Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required Requires knowledge of complex, multi-faceted design techniques Excellent knowledge of printing techniques and knowledge of production issues Able to understand and compile cost estimates for creative projects Excellent skill in operation of cutting edge technology to provide client with effective creative products and image files Able to understand client requirement and solve highly technical design problems and meet expectations while remaining in budget for creative assignments Additional Information The pay range for this role at the noted location is $24.15 - $38.00 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
