POSITION OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Vehicle Accountant to keep our numbers running as smoothly as our trucks. In this role, you’ll handle vehicle sales transactions, ensure accurate deal processing, reconcile accounts, and work closely with the Sales team to keep everything on track. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary accounting or business education preferred
• 2+ years of experience in dealership accounting or administration
• Strong understanding of the flow of a vehicle deal and related accounting implications
• Working knowledge of GAAP and dealership accounting procedures
• Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (DMS); advanced Excel skills required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Discretion in handling confidential information
• Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal)

Compensation: $60,000/year

JOB DUTIES:

• Process and post new and used vehicle sales
• Record revenue according to revenue recognition policies
• Review deal paperwork and ensure accuracy and completeness
• Calculate and submit vehicle sales commissions for payroll processing
• Maintain and reconcile accounting schedules for vehicle-related receivables, payables, and inventory
• Collaborate regularly with the Sales department to obtain missing documentation or resolve discrepancies
• Communicate with upper management, sales teams, and department managers
• Ensure transactions adhere to GAAP and internal controls
• Assist with month-end close processes related to vehicle sales
• Adhere to payroll and month end deadlines
