Description:

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle and Plant Technician to join our dynamic team and carry out basic maintenance and repairs to our fleet of vehicles and plant. The ideal candidate will possess some mechanical and electrical knowledge and be adept at using various tools and equipment to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and plant . This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Must have ability to carry out the following Duties (to include but not exhaustive)

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and plant to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Completion of defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
  • Perform ad-hoc vehicle and plant repairs, investigating and rectifying vehicle defects.
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and equipment to perform repairs, fitting and maintenance tasks.
  • Electrical works such as fitting Roof Mounted LED Light Bars, Vehicle GPS Trackers, Towing Plug sockets and fitting component parts such and headlights / rear lights etc.
  • Installation of vehicle internal racking and external ladder racking.
  • Carry out wheel changes on vehicles and small towing trailers.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used during repairs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards carrying out any other duty deemed reasonable by Management

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience and ability as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Electrical experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment is essential.
  • Good mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A valid driver’s licence is required; additional certifications related to vehicle maintenance are a plus.
  • Towing Trailers.
