Vehicle Inspector (Mechanic)
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000
Contract: Full-time and Permanent. 4 days per week , 3 day weekend!
Monday to Thursday 06.00 - 18.00
or
Tuesday to Friday 06.00 – 18.00
We are looking for a Vehicle Inspector to join our team at the Avonmouth Preparation Centre.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for carrying out high-quality mechanical inspections, ensuring each vehicle meets our standards before it reaches our customers. Working as part of a skilled and supportive team of technicians, you’ll help deliver a consistent output of fully inspected, road-ready vehicles.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within a similar role with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostic techniques.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repairs- minimum of level 2
  • Has a full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • Ability of carry out a comprehensive RAC 82-point vehicle check with precision and consistency
  • Demonstrates the ability to work to deadlines while maintaining a high and consistent level of performance and attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Carry out thorough mechanical checks on a wide range of used cars and vans at our large-scale preparation site.
  • Ensure all inspections are completed to a high standard, identifying any defects or safety issues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive working environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Accurately complete all necessary inspection documentation, ensuring records are thorough and compliant.
  • Upload inspection results using our vehicle preparation software via tablet, ensuring information is entered accurately and promptly.
  • Follow each assignment through to completion, meeting deadlines and delivering on agreed outcomes.
  • Work efficiently and with a strong attention to detail, ensuring all vehicles meet our quality standards before moving on in the preparation process.
