IN THIS POSITION…

Ford Motor Company is a leader in the outbound finished vehicle logistics space focused on delivering excellence in vehicle quality, speed-to-market, and delivery reliability at the most competitive cost. In an effort to improve its delivery reliability, Ford is on a journey to provide complete end-to-end visibility of its in-transit inventory allowing its dealers to know exactly where their vehicles are in real-time to improve customer satisfaction. As part of this new program, Ford is seeking to hire an experienced analyst with strong logistics operations and data management skills to help lead the charge on this initiative. Ford’s goal is to ensure all its transportation service providers are providing all required VIN-level milestones and seek out areas of improvement to refine its network to deliver industry-leading transit time and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Ford North American Vehicle Logistics (NAVL) team achieve planned transit time schedules from plant to dealer by leveraging data analytics to identify network design inefficiencies and implement corrective actions such as targeted network optimization, carrier resourcing, or shift in distribution mode.
  • Assist the NAVL team in achieving planned VIN-level estimated time of arrival (ETA) that is communicated to customers by developing metric reporting processes to monitor, control, and correct network inefficiencies that are resulting in late ETAs
  • Serve as a liaison between Ford & its third party vehicle track and trace service provider to onboard new Ford transportation service providers into the tool to ensure data quality compliance
  • Collaborate with all of Ford’s existing rail, carhaul, ocean, and yard service providers to improve respective carriers milestone and latency compliance within Ford’s vehicle track & trace reporting tool allowing Ford to have complete visibility within its vehicle distribution network
  • Assist other Ford global business units (e.g. European Vehicle Logistics, South America Vehicle Logistics, etc.) and Ford internal stakeholders (Ford Pro, Model E, Lincoln, etc.) in vehicle track & trace training and democratization of data
  • Lead industry benchmarking initiatives in vehicle telematics, vehicle visibility, freight payment, and other pertinent vehicle logistics areas of opportunity
  • Lead ad-hoc business solution projects that leverage industry leading technology in telematics, yard management, vehicle theft prevention, and in-transit damage prevention
  • Consistently develop one’s skills in Ford provided trainings and leverage opportunities for inter-departmental cross training in Network Planning, Network Operations, and Vehicle Quality.
