Position/ Title: Vehicle Make Ready Operative

Accountable To: Head of Operations /General Manager / Area Manager / Station Manager / Logistics and Stores Manager
Responsible For: Ensuring that the Elite EMS fleet is clean, tidy and stocked in line with business requirements

GENERAL SUMMARY:

To prepare ambulance for operational duty to an agreed quality standard for the benefits of our patients and staff. This will include cleaning, decontaminating, stocking, safety/functional checks of on-board equipment (medical and non-medical) and vehicle roadworthiness checks.
To act autonomously to ensure the continuation of Make Ready Services within the area of responsibility to maximise the availability of our ambulances to deliver patient care.
The role will involve shifts including working nights and weekends.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Category B driving license held
Infection prevention and Control
Manual Handling of inanimate objects
License confirms able to drive within category C1.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE (RELEVANT TO JOB)

Experience in dealing with a diverse range of people in a customer/patient environment.
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, responsibility and accountability.
Previously worked in the cleanliness of vehicle preparation

Additional Responsibilities:

• Complete additional duties commensurate with the role.
• Perform such duties of either a higher or lower rank as may be reasonable from time to time.
• The post holder may be required to work at any of Elite EMS sites in line with service needs.
• The pattern of work is unpredictable and interruptions can arise frequently during the shift.
• The work takes place in an open garage environment which is susceptible to extreme conditions of weather.
• The physical requirements of the job include lifting and carry supplies. Physical effort is required to wash vehicles.
• To develop oneself within the job and be proactive in identifying own professional development needs.
• To contribute towards development and review of the training needs of own peers and colleagues
