YOU MUST LIVE IN MILANO FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION.

We are currently working with a major technology company to collect map data across a number of Countries. The collection of map data involves operating vehicles equipped with a sensor mounted on the roof. This sensor will scan and collect data of the road network and route you are following. Upon completion of collecting data each day, you will transfer the data to an online platform through the electronic device provided. This data will lead to developing the next generation of digital maps to power mobile applications and autonomous vehicles.
As part of this project, we are seeking people to assist the Drive Coordinator to manage teams as well as operate and navigate the vehicles around the areas to be mapped. We are currently recruiting in Milano, Italy. We are looking for a Vehicle Mapping Supervisor (Camp Coordinator) who will also be in the vehicles alongside an Operator/Navigator who are enthusiastic, friendly, and safe. You will be working as part of a larger team so being personable is required. You should be comfortable working for long periods (approximately 8-10 hours per day) and have experience in operating/navigating in all situations, i.e. cities, freeways, suburban and rural. You should have a working knowledge of GPS and navigation applications. You should have a basic understanding of operating a computer (basic software) and can maneuver between different software applications on an iPad. Technical operation does not require any experience or need for programming. You will need to go through training to be up to date on the equipment and reporting procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be able to work long hours in stressful environments
  • Have some level of expertise and aptitude in motor vehicle mechanics
  • Have the capability to understand physical security protocols
  • Have experience with iOS devices, and should be technically savvy
  • Have at least four (4) years of driving experience, as well as experience driving for long periods of time
  • Prefer to be 25 years of age, but will consider appropriate experience
  • Have a valid driver’s license and are permitted to drive in the posted country
  • Clear driving record
  • Ability to pass a 5 or 7 Panel Drug Screen
  • Due to sensitivity of equipment and project, you must consent to random drug screening throughout entire project
  • Pass a Background check
Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team to operate mapping vehicles with care and attention, abiding by all traffic and highway rules.
  • Manage day-to-day operations in the field.
  • Quality assurance – managing communications regarding policies and procedures, equipment status and training at individual/team level.
  • Will be the first point of contact for the Field Operation Staff.
  • Reporting, distributing, collecting and managing local fulfillment needs for parts, including any missing or broken parts and management of parts inventory.
  • Oversee the distribution, collecting, and shipping SSDs for driver operations.
  • Follow up on all Help Desk queries and managing Part replacement.
  • Managing camp moves.
  • Monitoring and approving Field Operation Staff working hours.
  • Managing Vehicle maintenance.
  • Overseeing both the receiving and shipping of the crates and assembly and dis-assembly of the Systems, including installing and assembling parts as needed per client’s guidelines.
  • Strategic management of Field Operation Staff movements in their assigned region(s).
  • Use of navigation software and other applications as instructed to follow routes.
  • Assist Drive Coordinator with administrative duties and other assigned tasks.
  • Work effectively as part of a larger mapping team.
  • Interact with operators within the smaller team, Drive Coordinators, and members of the public in a professional manner.
  • Follow the rules and work missions as requested by the Drive Coordinators.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Complete daily checks on the vehicle and equipment and notify the manager of any issues.
  • Regular auditing of the Systems.
  • Operate carefully especially with the regards to the equipment on the vehicle, such as knowledge of the height of the vehicle with the equipment, being mindful of low-hanging objects such as trees.
  • Protect the equipment and vehicle by always parking the vehicle securely.
  • Follow security protocols and instructions from managers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the project and the data collected.
  • Maintain required logs as set forth by the Regional Manager.
  • Operate and monitor the sensor equipment on a daily basis in the mapping vehicle.
  • Diagnose and repair any equipment as needed within the parameters of your training.
  • Use navigation software and other applications as instructed to follow routes.
  • Consideration to the equipment and functionality of it is mandatory.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • A valid operator’s license to operate in any valid territory.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to listen to managers and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Basic Technical Familiarity with maps, phones, and tablet computers.
  • Be able to logically follow technical instructions.
  • Good understanding of the posted country’s road network.
  • Be a good communicator and be able to complete reports for managers.
  • Strength to lift up to 50lbs, plus bending and twisting.
  • Honest, open, and transparent communication.
  • MUST be able to speak fluent English.
  • Be a legal citizen, Legal Residence Card, or a Working Visa with no restrictions (no Student Visas accepted).
