Description JOB SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining and repairing the fleet of CRAA vehicles and equipment. This position reports to the Field Maintenance Supervisor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Completes preventative maintenance repairs of vehicles and equipment: washes and cleans CRAA vehicles; performs oil changes, greases and inspects hoses, belts, fluids and wiring; conducts periodic vehicle inspections, including testing and measurement; troubleshoots issues on vehicles and equipment and identifies the solution and cost to repair; overhauls engines, transmissions, clutches, and other parts as needed; identifies, repairs or replaces work or broken parts, aligns wheels, adjusts brakes, and tunes engines; reviews electrical diagrams and documents engine wear and tear; changes oil and services pumps and valves; upkeep of (4) generators Oversees outside vendors used to handle more difficult or over-flow repairs; schedules maintenance of outside vendors and CRAA vehicles and equipment with CRAA personnel; Estimates and contracts with vendors for time and material costs, shops for best pricing on parts and orders parts as necessary. Ensures all department equipment and materials are maintained and prepared for safe operation and use: follows safe working policies and procedures per OSHA and CRAA standards; maintains and wears appropriate safety gear; keeps current on newly purchased equipment and vehicles to enable maintenance and repair needs and actions. Performs annual pump testing and ladder testing and assures records are maintained: maintains vehicle and equipment repair records; records service and testing of equipment and materials into the records management system; processes and prioritizes maintenance requests and invoices into the records management system. Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments: operates and maintains and other power or motorized equipment; operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. Processes documentation as required. Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Associate degree, or an equivalent technical diploma/certification. Two (2) years’ experience in a related field of work. Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience. Specific License or Certification Required: Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
