We are offering a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading company in the Ground Service Equipment (GSE) industry. Our client, based at Glasgow Airport, is looking for a qualified technician to become a vital part of their team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Essential: City and Guilds in Motor Mechanics or equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable: Welding experience.
  • Previous experience working on commercial vehicles, plant equipment, or similar.
  • A valid UK driving licence.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to obtain an airside pass (subject to a criminal record check and 5-year employment history verification).
  • Certification of relevant qualifications.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of ground service equipment, including towing tractors, aircraft tugs, baggage elevators, and other specialist vehicles. Using your mechanical expertise, you will diagnose faults and carry out repairs, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment on-site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on a range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment in line with health and safety guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in mechanical repairs, particularly on commercial, plant, or HGV vehicles and or a strong background in light vehicle’s.
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems effectively.
  • A team-oriented attitude, with the ability to listen, collaborate, and bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • A clear understanding of health and safety systems and protocols
