Description
Design advanced / pre-program Body-in-White and frames and subframes (stampings, extrusions, roll formed, joining, etc) Coordinate with all stakeholders (Safety, Manufacturing, NVH, cost, weight, investment, etc.) to achieve Structures functional requirements and timing Prepare BOM, cost, weight and assembly flow documents Create 3D package studies to resolve incompatibilities within systems quantitatively Prepare benchmarking and attachment C decision matrices Prepare and present technical studies to peers and management Create design packages for initial supplier sourcing, vendor tooling, internal manufacturing, and other customers of our designs Co-Develop advanced features, technologies, and materials Established and active employee resource groups BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science Extensive experience in technology development; solid history of patent development and implementation Experience with Catia V5 a must, and TeamCenter a plus but not required Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in structures design and release engineering Broad exposure to various vehicle types and material types (Body-On-Frame Truck, Unibody SUV, steel, aluminum, etc.) Ability to work in a fluid environment when overall vehicle targets, size, appearance, and manufacturing location are not always known Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Microsoft Office experience Effective oral and written communication skills 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skills
