Vehicle Technician – Performance & Diagnostics
Location: 1 Newton Brae, Cambuslang, G72 7UW
Company: Laird Performance LTD
Salary: Negotiable (based on experience & qualifications)
About Us
Laird Performance LTD is a specialist tuning and performance parts company working across a wide range of vehicles — with a strong focus on Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes, and BMW. We are passionate about aftermarket performance modifications and committed to delivering high-quality results for our customers. As a growing business, we are offering the right candidate the opportunity to join us at an exciting stage, play a key role in our future, and develop their career alongside the company.
The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, be confident with diagnostics, and thrive on solving problems in both standard and performance-focused builds. This role goes beyond routine maintenance — you’ll be working on everything from performance upgrades to engine rebuilds, in an environment where precision, teamwork, and passion matter.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance (oil changes, inspections, brakes, etc.)
  • Perform advanced mechanical work including turbo upgrades, engine timing jobs, and modifications
  • Diagnose issues using modern diagnostic tools and methods, ensuring accurate and efficient repairs
  • Work on both stock and high-performance vehicles in a fast-paced, aftermarket environment
  • Assist in the preparation and build of vehicles for both road and track use
  • Maintain a clean, methodical, and professional work environment
  • Collaborate closely with other technicians and team members to deliver outstanding results

What We’re Looking For

  • Fully qualified Vehicle Technician (or equivalent trade experience)
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with diagnostics
  • A natural problem-solver with a methodical approach to work
  • Passion for performance vehicles and aftermarket modifications
  • Experience with Ford, Hyundai, or Mercedes preferred (but not essential)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • Great attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • Full UK resident with a full UK driving licence

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay (negotiable, based on experience and qualifications)
  • Opportunity to join a growing business at the ground level with clear paths for career development
  • A collaborative environment where your skills and ideas matter
  • Exciting projects with performance-focused builds
  • Unique work perks — including track days and involvement in high-performance events

If you’re passionate about performance vehicles, thrive on diagnostics and problem-solving, and want to be part of a company that lives and breathes tuning — we’d love to hear from you.
