Job Title: Vehicle Technician
Location: Southampton
Hours: 40 hours per week (1 in 4 weekends)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualifications in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience and certification as an MOT Tester are advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and experience with modern diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
  • Full UK driving license.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including oil changes, brake servicing, and tire replacements.
  • Conduct MOT tests on vehicles, including inspecting brakes, suspension, lights, exhaust systems, and tires to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to assess vehicle systems, identify faults, and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Document test results and any issues discovered during inspections, providing detailed reports to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, explaining repair needs and costs clearly, and providing recommendations for necessary repairs.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services and repairs performed, including MOT certificates and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of work.
