Vehicle Test Engineer – Foundation Brake Location: Frankfurt, Germany Working Style: Office-based with vehicle and proving-ground testing Employment Type: Full-time Business: Automotive Brake Systems / Tier-1 Supplier About the Role We are looking for a Vehicle Test Engineer to support the development, testing and validation of foundation brake systems and components for leading global automotive OEM customers. In this role, you will plan and execute vehicle-level brake tests, evaluate braking performance, analyze test data and support technical problem solving throughout the product development process. You will work closely with foundation brake design, simulation, testing, quality and project teams, as well as with OEM customers and external testing organizations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in foundation brake testing and vehicle validation, with a good understanding of brake system performance, brake dynamics, thermal behavior and brake NVH. Key Responsibilities l Plan and execute vehicle-level testing for foundation brake systems according to customer and internal requirements. l Prepare the test vehicle requirement and confirm with customer for the vehicle status l Prepare test plans, test procedures, test vehicles, instrumentation and measurement equipment. l Conduct vehicle tests to evaluate braking performance, brake stability, durability, thermal performance and brake NVH. l Evaluate the performance of foundation brake components and systems under different vehicle operating conditions. l Conduct testing of brake calipers, brake discs/rotors, brake pads and related foundation brake components. l Perform NVH vehicle test, analysis the NVH test result and work with engineering team for issues analysis and find the solution. l Perform brake performance testing under different speeds, loads, temperatures and road conditions. l Conduct brake fade, recovery and thermal performance testing. l Support OEM’s vehicle brake durability and wear testing. l And support the issue confirmation, information collection and analysis from customer end, and work with China local team for issues solving. l Support brake noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) testing and investigation. l Collect, process and analyze vehicle test data and identify potential performance issues. l Conduct technical analysis and root-cause investigation of brake-system problems identified during testing. l Work closely with mechanical design engineers to optimize product performance based on test results. l Support prototype testing, design verification and product validation activities. l Prepare detailed test reports, technical documentation and recommendations.l Support OEM customer testing and technical discussions. l Participate in proving-ground and road testing in Germany and other locations as required. l Support product development activities from prototype phase through validation and SOP. l Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant safety procedures, technical standards and customer requirements. l Prepare the vehicle test contract for the third party, review the supplier’s report if the test is conduct by the third party Technical Scope The position focuses on foundation brake systems, including: l Brake calipers l Brake discs / rotors l Brake pads l Foundation brake assemblies l Mechanical and hydraulic brake components l Friction materials l Brake performance l Brake thermal behavior l Brake durability and wear l Brake noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) l Brake pedal feel and braking response l Vehicle-level brake testing l Proving-ground testing
