  • Do you live in the Greater Nanaimo area? (Victoria/James Bay/Oak Bay, Vic West/Esquimalt/View Royal, Central Saanich/Gorge Tillicum)
  • Are you prepared to wake up at 4:00 am each morning?
  • Shifts usually last 9–12 hours from when you leave home until you return. Average pay is about $140 per day. Is this okay with you?
  • Are you comfortable taking transit and walking up to 2KM at a time on both the island and lower mainland?
  • Are you comfortable driving larger vehicles (e.g. Transit Vans, F550’s Cube Vans, Overheight Vehicles)
  • Can you drive a manual transmission?
  • Do you have a modern smartphone and are familiar with using Google or Apple Maps?
  • Do you have a clean driving record with more than 25 years of driving experience? (Driver’s abstract required)
  • Do you have a basic understanding of vehicle maintenance/issues? (check oil, tire pressure, tire condition, engine light, engine overheating, jump a dead battery)
  • Can you work a minimum of 3 days a week?

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for responsible, reliable drivers to join our transporter team. This role involves picking up and delivering vehicles between dealerships on Vancouver Island, Vancouver, and the Lower Mainland.
The workdays are long (10–12 hours, including ferry travel), but the pace is relaxed and you’ll enjoy the camaraderie of a friendly group of fellow drivers.
This position is best suited for retirees or semi-retired individuals who enjoy driving, staying active, and being part of a team. It’s not about the money — it’s about enjoying the road and the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely pick up and deliver vehicles between dealerships
  • Follow scheduled routes and timelines provided
  • Perform basic vehicle checks prior to delivery (fuel, cleanliness, etc.)
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain safe driving practices
