Location: On-site preferred | Remote considered based on experience Schedule: 30–40 hours per week Compensation: $40-50 per hour (depending on experience and on-site availability) Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor About the Role Herring Bank is seeking a temporary Vendor Management Support Specialist to assist within our compliance function. This 90-day contract position will provide hands-on operational support across vendor oversight and related compliance processes. This role is ideal for someone with experience in banking or regulated financial services who can step in, take direction, and execute efficiently. While prior vendor management experience is preferred, we are open to strong compliance professionals who have worked in a regulated environment and can quickly ramp up with guidance. What You’ll Do Organize and maintain vendor and compliance documentation Track renewals, insurance certificates, SOC reports, and other required materials Assist with vendor risk classification and documentation tracking Support contract documentation review coordination Maintain centralized tracking logs and status reporting Follow up with vendors and internal stakeholders for required information Assist with audit and examination preparation Provide general operational support for the compliance function as needed What We’re Looking For 3+ years of experience in banking compliance, risk, operations, or vendor management within a regulated financial institution Familiarity with third-party/vendor oversight processes preferred but not required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently with clear direction Comfortable managing documentation, follow-up, and tracking workflows Professional communication skills when interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders Ability to quickly plug in and contribute in a fast-paced environment Additional Details On-site presence strongly preferred Remote eligible for highly experienced candidates 30–40 hours per week for approximately 90 days Independent contractor (1099) engagement Must complete and pass a background check This a 1099 contract position, not eligible for employee benefits Flexible work from home options available.
