We are at a hyper-growth inflection point and need a growth-focused operations professional to build and scale our vendor management capabilities to support 3-5x business expansion.

POSITION SUMMARY

As Vendor Manufacturing Operations & Development Specialist, you will lead the transformation of our vendor quality systems and scale our manufacturing capacity through strategic vendor partnerships. This is a high-impact role that directly enables our aggressive growth objectives by eliminating quality inspection bottlenecks and building scalable vendor relationships.
You will transform our current “inspect-in” quality approach to a near-zero inspection model through Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation at vendor facilities, while simultaneously scaling our vendor network from 2 to 4+ strategic manufacturing partners.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 57 years vendor management or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing
  • Proven experience with quality system transformation and SPC implementation
  • Handson vendor development experience in scaling manufacturing environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • APICS/ASCM supply chain certifications (CSCP, CLTD)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with scaling operations in growth companies (50200 employees)
  • Aerospace regulatory compliance experience (FAA, AS9100)

Responsibilities

Quality Transformation & Vendor Development

  • Lead SPC implementation at vendor facilities to eliminate incoming inspection requirements
  • Conduct vendor capability assessments and develop transformation roadmaps
  • Design and deliver quality training programs to elevate vendor capabilities
  • Establish vendor quality certification programs and performance standards
  • Implement root cause analysis and corrective action processes across vendor network

Vendor Network Scaling & Management

  • Source, qualify, and onboard new vendors to support business growth (targeting 4+ vendors)
  • Develop scalable vendor qualification processes that maintain quality while enabling rapid expansion
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and service level agreements with decisionmaking authority
  • Monitor vendor performance through realtime dashboards and performance reporting
  • Coordinate shipping schedules and logistics for external product deliveries

Operational Excellence & Growth Enablement

  • Optimize material utilization efficiency and reduce waste across vendor operations
  • Establish minimum stock thresholds and inventory management protocols
  • Generate cost analysis and vendor comparison reports (cost, delivery, quality, total value)
  • Issue performancebased corrective action reports with trend analysis
  • Manage vendor chargebacks for noncompliance issues

Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop vendor relationship strategies that scale with business growth
  • Create visual reporting systems for executive visibility into vendor performance
  • Lead crossfunctional projects to improve endtoend supply chain efficiency
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and quality records per aerospace standards
