REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CLAIMS

While no Job Description can possibly include all duties that may be requested by customers
or required by the Company, the following is a summary of the primary responsibilities of
the position. This job description will be reviewed when duties and responsibilities change
and is subject to changes of business necessity. Employees are expected to perform all job
functions within acceptable company levels for work quantity and quality. Failure to
maintain performance levels for each job function may result in disciplinary action up to and
including termination of employment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vendor Program Supervisor will supervise a specific operating unit within the claims
department and is responsible for overseeing the management of key Claim vendors and
the services they provide on behalf of Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.
This position reports directly to the Claims Director and works with others within the
company, in addition to key claim vendors, for the successful completion management of
their programs and projects. This is a full time position. Regular working hours are Monday
through Friday, 8:00 am- 4:00 pm, although, there is some flexibility in hours within the
confines of the job requirements; but the employee must be available to work in the event
of a catastrophe.

SKILLS

  • In-depth understanding of claims operating practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of current construction methods and costs; an ability to write estimates and

complete both a contents and building (personal/commercial) valuation.

  • Must have the ability to identify, analyze, evaluate, and resolve issues.
  • Must possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must exercise good decision making and independent judgment.
  • Must be able to establish priorities in work assignments and have the ability to multi task

and work under pressure and deadlines.

  • Must be able to climb ladders, roofs, climb through small spaces, crawl spaces and home

attics, and maintain a three point safety contact at all times.

  • Must have knowledge of proper use of equipment and materials and supplies used.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and coordination. Excellent stamina is required.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. This job, at times, operates in a

clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a
calculator, computer, phone(s), photocopier, filing cabinet and fax machine. Employees

must be able to sit for long periods of time, type, and lift up to twenty pounds.

  • Ability to work flexible hours if needed.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years outside property claims adjusting experience required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Active Louisiana Adjuster’s License required

Responsibilities
  • Management of the CAT Vendor(s).
  • Training of adjusters and supervisors working for the CAT Vendor.
  • Overseeing the licensing, certification of adjusters and supervisors working for the CAT

Vendor.

  • Claim CAT Planning and Preparation.
  • Management of claim results in the event of a catastrophe.
  • Work with the IT Department on the implementation of system enhancements to make

LCPIC’s CAT claim handling more efficient.

  • Management and supervision of the Salvage/Subrogation program and vendor(s).
  • Management of the Re-Inspection Program and vendors.
  • Review, evaluate, and summarize reinspection findings with recommendations to

management.
o Produce impactful, high quality reports that articulate reinspection findings,
identify trends, illustrate both strength and opportunity areas, and provide an
appropriate level of root cause analysis.
o Work with the Claims Supervisor to develop or modify claims handling best
practices and conduct internal and external training based on reinspection findings.

o Track performance results.

  • Assign claims or tasks to reinspection staff and/or vendors.
  • Reviews claims assigned to the reinspection staff and provides technical direction and

ongoing guidance.

  • Manages an effective diary system to assure that all reinspections are handled timely

and appropriately.

  • Management of other key Vendors (i.e. Xactware, Eagleview, etc.)
  • Communicates appropriate information to Claim staff.
  • Provides guidance and training to Claim staff to accomplish company goals and objectives.

Directs and supervises the claims reinspection process; effectively and efficiently manages

staff and/or vendors conducting reinspections.

  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching,

training, and development.

  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and

improved working relationships. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others

and works to maintain constructive working relationships, setting examples for others.

  • Supports project teams in processing quality activities by educating, coaching and

mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools and application. Looks for

ways to streamline processes and resources.

  • Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company

policies. Ensures vendors are adhering to company policies and administering practices

in a fair and equitable manner.

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in performance of duties and

responsibilities.

  • May work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold,

and exposure to dust and elements.

  • Adhere to applicable safety precautions at all times.
  • Required to transport and carry all necessary equipment.
  • Duties may also include work on special programs. Travel and field work may occur during

both business and non-business hours, including holidays, weekdays, weekends,

overnight, and extended periods of time. Travel and field work would include driving.

  • Serve as a catastrophe team member and assist with the execution of the Company’s

Catastrophe Response Plan.

  • Maintain positive interpersonal skills and abilities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and

hear. The employee is required to write; reach with hands; stand; walk; and key

frequently on a computer for long periods of time (4 or more hours per day).
