As a leadership volunteer, you will be part of our committees of volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.

In this role, you will be supporting the efforts of the Canadian Cancer Society to raise critical funds to change the future for those living with cancer and beyond. The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for our volunteer Vendor Relations Lead to support our newest event, “Trivia Night.” Volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society is more than just a task or experience – it has a real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society is actively recruiting a Vendor Relations Lead to join our team.
Brief Overview: Working in partnership with the CCS Staff Partner and the Committee, the Vendor Relations Lead will support CCS staff partner with major logistics elements and vendor stewardship.

Your commitment

As the Vendor Relations Lead you can expect to work on the following:

  • Support staff partner with major logistic elements, specifically by acting as main contact for all vendors at event (including venue staff).
  • Act in tandem with staff partner as the Site/Event Lead on event day.
  • Submit necessary venue permits and ensures appropriate licensing and insurance has been obtained.
  • Organize unique and desirable food and beverage activations on-site on event day.
  • Place orders for rental of items such as tables, chairs, serving ware, etc.
  • Create event day Run-of-Show including development of event day set-up and tear-down, load-in and out of vendors, organization of security and first-aid, and inclusion of potentially accessibility needs.
  • Liaise between committee and vendors from booking to execution and post-event vendor thank you.
  • Manage budget, confirm and track expenses.
  • Works closely with Event Day Experience Lead.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Canadian Cancer Society.
