About the role
Reporting to the Director of Innovation and Ventures, as the Venture Analyst, you will support AO Ventures and play a critical role in supporting the investment team across all stages of the venture capital lifecycle — from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management and reporting.
You will work closely with the General Partners and broader team to identify high-potential early-stage companies, assist in investment decisions, and contribute to the growth and success of AO Ventures’ portfolio.
In this role you will:
- Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Management - proactively source and manage high-potential startups aligned with AO Ventures’ investment thesis
- Due Diligence & Investment Analysis - conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and financial modelling.
- Portfolio Management & Support- act as a key point of contact for portfolio companies, supporting them post-investment.
- Fund Operations & Reporting - support compliance requirements, and the preparation of quarterly reports and updates for Limited Partners (LPs).
- AO Startups Program - assist in the growth, selection and onboarding of startups into the AO Startups piloting program.
Note - this is a 6 month max term contract
About you
With a passion for tennis, startups and venture capital, you will possess at least two years of experience in a similar position in a venture capital fund.
Additionally, you will bring:
- Advanced expertise with software platforms customarily used in funds management
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate business models, especially at an early stage
- Previous work experience in similar roles at venture firms
- Strong track record working with or advising in startups
- Proven knowledge of the sports industry, ideally with startups or in investment
- Refined interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrated resilience and solution-focused approach to all issues
- Multi-lingual capability, especially fluent in Spanish
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
