Role Purpose We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Venue Manager to lead the end-to-end management of venues for all exam products, including Pen and Paper and Computer-Based formats. This role is critical to ensuring that all venues meet the required standards for security, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), and child protection (CP), while supporting seamless test day operations. Main Accountabilities As Venue Operations Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing suitable venues, managing additional capacity needs, and liaising with procurement and venue providers to ensure all operational requirements are met. You will conduct venue health and safety audits, provide performance feedback to vendors, and ensure compliance with exam board and QCA standards. You will also work closely with the Test Day Resources team to ensure key staff are available and present at each venue. You will play a key role in developing and documenting both short- and long-term venue resourcing strategies in collaboration with procurement and operational planning teams. You will manage venue-related budgets across all products, ensuring accuracy, cost efficiency, and compliance with financial and procurement policies. Your ability to resolve venue-related complaints and provide timely support to the operations team will be essential in maintaining high standards of customer service. In this role, you will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders including procurement, security, planning, and test day teams. You will also be expected to identify and mitigate risks at all stages of venue engagement, ensuring all agreements align with British Council's compliance standards. Promoting child protection policies throughout venue procurement and planning processes is a key responsibility. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent written and verbal English proficiency (minimum level B2), a bachelor's degree in any discipline, and a Higher Diploma or equivalent professional experience. You should bring proven experience in event management, vendor coordination, procurement, and budget management, along with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
