Description
Description GasTech Engineering LLC is seeking skilled Vessel Welders to join our high-performance welding team. This position is responsible for performing all welding required to thermally join pressure-containing vessel equipment and components in accordance with ASME Code standards. Our welders transform engineering documentation into high-quality welded assemblies using specified materials, consumables, and qualified weld procedures — all while meeting strict quality and production expectations. Our goal is to establish the GasTech Vessel Department as the most respected process-equipment welding group in the industry. We are looking for welders who take pride in their craftsmanship, work safely, and are committed to excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Set up and run radiographic (RT) and ultrasonic (UT) quality code welds according to qualified procedures. Set up and run UT-quality nozzle and branch welds in required positions. Perform carbon-arc gouging as needed. Execute UT or RT weld repairs using approved techniques. Clean and properly stamp all completed welds. Set up and run all non-code vessel welds independently. Lay out and fit vessel components according to drawings and specifications. Perform oxy-fuel cutting and burning tasks safely and accurately. Read and interpret engineering drawings, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR). Use PT, MT, UT, and RT testing methods correctly when required. Maintain strong decision-making skills, safety awareness, and professional housekeeping. Meet production deadlines with consistent, high-quality work. Maintain weld repair percentages within acceptable department goals. Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive, cooperative attitude. Provide leadership, teamwork, and forward planning when situations require it. Requirements A high school diploma or GED is required for this position. Candidates must have prior experience in vessel manufacturing, with a proven track record of welding proficiency. Applicants must be able to successfully pass a qualified welding test in FCAW and GMAW procedures that aligns with the appropriate skill level for the role. Advanced vocational training in welding is preferred, though not mandatory. Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required, especially in a fast-paced production environment. The ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with solid interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities, are necessary for success in this role. Familiarity with ASME/ANSI Codes is preferred but not required. Experience working in an ISO 9001 quality-management environment is also preferred but not required.
