Description

Quark Expeditions is the leading polar expedition travel company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. We operate cruises to Antarctica and Arctic regions (Greenland, North Canada, Svalbard) on board of 3 modern polar expedition ships – Ultramarine, Ocean Explorer, and World Explorer. Since 1991, Quark has been establishing a tradition of firsts in polar travel: as the first to transit the Northeast Passage with adventure travellers; the first to take travellers to the far side of Antarctica; and the first to circumnavigate the Antarctic continent with guests. Quark Expeditions is part of Travelopia, the world’s leading experiential travel business, owned by KKR.
We’re looking to hire a Vessel Operations Manager to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Director, Marine Operations, you’ll own relationships with deck and engine suppliers for Quark Expeditions

  • Conduct regular reviews of the guest ratings and develop action plans with operational and industry partners to continually improve operations.

  • Develop and maintain bunker, crewing, and maintenance plans for the vessels.
  • Work collaboratively with the office operations team, onboard expedition team, and operations partners to build outstanding experiences for our guests.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Analysts to assist with financial forecasts, seasonal and yearly budget plans.
  • Develop and manage relationships with our partners and work together to improve the overall experience onboard.
  • Connect with operations management from each partner and discuss how to manage and train officers to meet and exceed onboard standards.
  • Provide all other forms of shore side support as the need arises by the Quark operations team, as it relates to deck, engine, technical and crewing.
  • Exhibit Commitment to the Quark guests and show a dedication to moving the product forward to accommodate the guest satisfaction and requirements
  • Communicate the operational plan to operational partners and assist with logistics for provision planning.
  • Assist in promoting sustainability targets and the methods/incentives to reach and exceed them onboard through onboard procedures, contracts, and procurement
