Job Description Main Responsibilities This role requires efficient control and close liaison with other counterparties in remote locations. The key tasks assigned include: Operate and be responsible for the end-to-end management of all allocated vessels’ shipping operations matter, for Dry Cargo ships Communicate and liaise with vessel owner’s/ship masters/charterers, trading team and other relevant stakeholders on voyage instructions Responsible for following up on post fixture activities Manage assigned external relations with customers and / or suppliers Support and lead process improvement initiatives as required Ensure and champion a close and harmonious working relationship with the relevant Commercial team Collaborate effectively with other Freight Platform desks Experience 3-4 years’ experience as Operator of Voyage/ Time Charter dry bulk vessel, minimally 8-10 vessels at a time Significant and demonstrated customer or supplier relationship skills An interest in and aptitude for people management Knowledge of macroeconomics including trade flows Commercial Maturity/Shipping or Economic studies Fluent in English essential, with other languages an advantage Sea-going experience desirable but not essential Proficient in use of technology particularly Excel, Word, Shipping system (strong preference for IMOS). Other skills (Computer Skills, etc) Familiarity with Sedna and IMOS would be an advantage Customer focused and relationship building with key accounts (Internal Customers and Shipowners) Accountability and strong sense of ownership, team play and collaboration.
