Description

Do You Dream of a Career with Global Impact and Visibility in an Ambitious and Growing Company?
At Hempel, we’re on a mission to reduce fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions across the global fleet — and we’re looking for a Vessel Performance Manager to help us get there.
This is your chance to combine technical expertise, data insights and customer engagement to make a measurable impact on ship efficiency and environmental performance.
Your key responsibilities
As our new Vessel Performance Manager, you will be at the forefront of performance optimization for our maritime customers. You’ll manage a portfolio of key clients — many with large fleets in Europe and North America — and conduct regular performance reviews that translate underwater insights into tangible fuel savings and improved operational strategies.
You’ll become part of our Marine Performance Advisor (MPA) team, playing a critical role in expanding our presence in Europe and supporting our growing base of nurture customers.

Get ready to join a purpose-driven team with global reach. In this role, you will:

  • Analyze vessel performance data and underwater inspection reports to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Provide expert advisory on hull inspections, maintenance strategies, and underwater cleaning operations
  • Develop and enhance Hempel’s underwater advisory services, helping us lead innovation in this space
  • Combine insights from multiple data sources – from fuel usage to operational profiles – to build holistic vessel performance assessments
  • Deliver clear and engaging presentations to customers, guiding them with tailored recommendations and measurable actions
  • Collaborate across global and cross-functional teams, acting as a bridge between data, technical expertise, and client needs

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and a passion for sustainable innovation:

  • Hands-on experience with hull inspection and underwater cleaning operations
  • A background in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong data analysis skills, with a passion for turning numbers into narratives
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities, especially when explaining complex technical content
  • Knowledge of biofouling, hull coatings, and vessel performance systems
  • A customer-first mindset, with a proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving

Global career possibilities
At Hempel, we offer a global career in a purpose-driven company that puts innovation, collaboration, and sustainability first. You’ll join a new and ambitious team with the opportunity to shape the direction we take and leave a lasting impact.
