Our client, a global leader in the shipping industry, is expanding its Fleet Performance function and is seeking a Fleet Performance Operations (Hull) Specialist to join their growing team in Mumbai. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute in the technical operations team, working closely with colleagues in India and head quarter. Vessel Performance Operations (Hull) Specialist Based in Mumbai, India Overview: As part of the Vessel Performance team, you will be primarily responsible for managing hull performance and biofouling while supporting wider fleet performance initiatives. The role is hands-on, requiring strong operational and analytical skills to ensure vessel efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective hull maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Monitor hull condition across the fleet and recommend inspections, grooming, and antifouling runs. Track long-stay vessels and plan timely hull actions. Arrange and oversee hull cleaning, inspections (UWI/C), and grooming operations to meet performance and compliance standards. Ensure compliance with NZ/MPI/AU biofouling regulations and maintain validity for hull loggers. Verify invoices against work scope and monitor vendor service quality. Provide operational advice to Chartering and Operations on hull cleaning availability, costs, and drydock/inspection history. Support legal cases by providing evidence for hull fouling disputes. Collaborate with fleet performance colleagues in Mumbai and Dubai on broader vessel efficiency initiatives. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering or related field of study. Prior sailing experience as 2nd Officer or 3rd Engineer with minimum 12 months sailing experience; OR Minimum 2 years’ experience in the shipping industry, ideally with exposure to hull management, vessel performance, or technical operations. At least 3 to 5 years shore-based experience in fleet performance / technical operations with strong understanding of vessel operations, hull performance, and compliance requirements. Good coordination and communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
