Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience or formal training as a veterinary assistant or in animal care. * Basic knowledge of animal handling and safety protocols. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: * Certification as a Veterinary Assistant (e.g., Approved Veterinary Assistant - AVA). * Experience with medical record management software. * Knowledge of common animal diseases and treatments. * CPR and first aid certification for animals. * Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter. Responsibilities: * Assist veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures. * Prepare and restrain animals safely and humanely for various medical procedures. * Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment. * Monitor and record vital signs and behavior of animals under care. * Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals, including feeding, exercising, and grooming as needed. * Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding basic care instructions and appointment scheduling. * Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage and handling. * Support administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records and processing payments.
