Description
Description Support GP Veterinarian providing vet exams, diagnostics, and prescriptions/refills. Provide excellent customer service to our clients and their pets. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet customers as they enter the clinic. Answer phones as needed as back up to the call center staff. Book appointments. Print admission forms and answer questions about services and pricing. Fill prescriptions. Perform adoptions on cat/kittens in lobby. Clean cat cages in lobby. Keep lobby clean at all times. Keep storage closet organized. Draw blood, administer fluids, give injections of all types, look at specimens under microscope. Monitor equipment and report problems to the Executive Director as they are detected Laundry Mopping Maintain proper stock of supplies in all areas of the clinic Perform other duties as assigned Requirements SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Basic Computer Skills Intermediate mathematical skills Advanced organization skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or Equivalent Customer Service Experience WORKING CONDITIONS Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as required Regular and predictable attendance is required Moderate noise / animal kennel atmosphere PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties of this job. Regularly required to talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, calculator and telephone. The ability to move about to coordinate work within observation rooms. The ability to stand for long periods of time and in excess of 5 hours. Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently handle urine, vomit, and feces from cats, dogs, and rabbits. These can contain parasites contagious to humans. Employees are expected to wear proper protective clothing, gloves, and masks as needed.
