      Meredith Place Veterinary Emergency is looking to add a Lead Technician to our team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated person who is interested in Leadership. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, willing to learn on - the job, and can stay calm in a busy environment. At this time we will only be considering Certified Veterinary Technicians or Technicians with more the 8 years in the veterinary field.  SUMMARY The Lead Veterinary Technician (Lead Tech), a leader in the Hospital, works in partnership with the Lead Doctor and Practice Manager to ensure an excellent experience for our clients and their pets. The Lead Tech manages all activities that fall under the duties of the veterinary technicians and technician assistants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Ensures the delivery of excellent care for all hospital patients. · Provides critical feedback to technical personnel and participates in reviews of said personnel. · Handle and document all disciplinary issues with the involvement of the Practice Manager · Participants in the hiring and managing of technical staff. · Establishing and overseeing training protocols for technical staff. · Scheduling technical staff personnel in an efficient manner consistent with budgetary goals and hospital needs while also maintaining attendance records. · Managing the controlled drugs records and inventory. · Organizing and managing regular tech team meetings and in-house continuing education. · Personally addressing complaints concerning technical staff. · Practicing and promoting positive working relationships and efficient and effective communication between clients, doctors, reception desk, and technical staff. · Monitoring compliance with OSHA, DEA, and FDA requirements; notify the Practice Manager of any regulatory issues. · Developing and enforcing policies and protocols. · Inventory management - weekly/as needed  Other duties as deemed necessary In addition, the Lead Tech will work scheduled shifts during which he or she will be responsible for providing primary technical support to veterinarians.
