About the Community Brooklyn, New York is the most populous of New York City's five boroughs, known for its cultural diversity, historic neighborhoods, and vibrant arts and food scenes. Located just across the East River from Manhattan, Brooklyn combines urban energy with a strong sense of community across its many distinct neighborhoods, such as Williamsburg, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, and Bushwick. It offers iconic attractions like the Brooklyn Bridge, Prospect Park, Coney Island, and the Brooklyn Museum, along with a world-renowned culinary scene and active nightlife. Brooklyn is also a hub for creatives, tech startups, and entrepreneurs, especially in areas like DUMBO. While it’s one of the more expensive places to live in NYC, its excellent public transportation, walkable streets, and mix of tradition and innovation make it a compelling place to live, work, or visit. Pay Range: $100,000-$150,000 base annually. Exact salary will dependent on the position, location, and experience. Responsibilities Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems Treat and dress wounds Perform surgery on animals Test for and vaccinate against diseases Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments Prescribe medication Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal Strong fondness and understanding of animals Good communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of animal behavior Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals How to Apply To learn more about this position, please contact Chelsea Haverfield at (636) 373-1181, or by email at chaverfield@carevethealth.com.
