Description Position Overview: PRCKC is seeking a compassionate, adaptable Veterinarian (DVM) to join our team. Our veterinarians rotate through multiple service areas, including wellness, high-quality high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN), dentals, urgent care, and mobile outreach. This model allows for professional growth, skill diversification, and meaningful community impact. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide high-quality medical care across service areas, including: Wellness and preventive care Spay/neuter surgery (HQHVSN model) Dental procedures Urgent care services Mobile clinic services in the community Rotate between departments based on organizational needs and individual skillset Perform physical exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, and client education Maintain accurate and timely medical records Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented culture Uphold PRCKC’s mission of accessible, judgment-free care What Makes This Role Unique: Variety in Practice: Work across multiple service lines rather than a single-track role Mission-Driven Impact: Serve underserved communities and reduce barriers to care Collaborative Culture: Team-based care with strong technician and support staff Growth Opportunities: Develop skills in surgery, dentals, and community medicine Flexible Scheduling: Choose a schedule that works for your lifestyle Our Offer: Compensation & Benefits: PRCKC offers a competitive compensation package including: Salary range: $80,000 – $120,000, based on experience and skillset CE allowance and professional development support Licensing and professional dues support Paid time off and holidays Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan options Employee pet care benefits Schedule Options: 4-day work week (4x10-hour shifts) or 5-day work week (5x8-hour shifts) Occasional Saturdays may be required based on program needs Requirements Education & Licensure: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school. Current Missouri veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain). Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical veterinary experience. Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience in high-volume spay/neuter, shelter medicine, or nonprofit veterinary practice strongly preferred. Core Competencies: Strong clinical and surgical skills (spay/neuter experience preferred but not required) Commitment to high-quality, high-volume care models Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to access-to-care veterinary medicine Ability to thrive in a fast-paced nonprofit environment Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods during surgery and clinical work. Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes. Ability to work in a clinical environment with exposure to animals, medical equipment, and cleaning agents.
