Together, we strive to create a community where every animal receives the care and compassion they deserve. Job Description We are a busy 3-doctor hospital that operates Monday through Friday. Our team is small and values integrity, compassion and teamwork, and we are looking for someone who holds a similar moral compass. Together, the doctors and support team are dedicated to the well being of pets and the people who care for them by using clear communication skills to educate and discuss best practices and outcomes in an approachable way. Veterinary Assistants play a vital role in our hospital, the foundation of which includes a friendly attitude and a self starting mindset. Some of the daily tasks are interacting with clients and their pets, cleaning, running diagnostic equipment, assisting the doctors, record keeping, and putting away inventory. We are looking for a punctual, friendly, compassionate person to help round out our team. This position will be cross-trained to help reception, and have rotating kennel hours on some weekends - typically every 4-6 weeks. The schedule for this position is still being crafted, but will equal around 20 hours per week. General start time is 7:45am and end time is 6-630pm. Wednesday nights until 8pm are required. There is a potential for this position to grow into full-time, and there is availability to pick up shifts due to team illness or PTO. Qualifications An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator Must be able to safely and calmly restrain pets. Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring. Attention to detail and problem solving skills Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skill set.
