Description

JOIN A COLLABORATIVE, CUTTING-EDGE TEAM AT CENTRAL TORONTO VETERINARY AND REFERRAL & EMERGENCY CLINIC (CTVRC/EC)!

Are you ready to take your passion for animal care to the next level? At CTVRC/EC, we’re not just a veterinary hospital — we’re a community built on compassion, teamwork, and excellence in specialty and emergency medicine. We’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact in the lives of pets and their people.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll support our Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency & Critical Care teams in delivering high-level care. You’ll be an essential part of our patient care flow — whether you’re preparing an ER tray, comforting a hospitalized patient, or keeping our clinic running smoothly.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Assisting with diagnostics and procedures like Fine Needle Aspirates, Tru-Cut Biopsies, and surgical anesthetic setups
  • Providing compassionate restraint and ensuring safety for patients and team members
  • Keeping patients comfortable with clean bedding and gentle handling
  • Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and maintaining aseptic technique
  • Supporting surgery teams on procedures such as fracture repairs and mass removals
  • Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • A high school diploma (Post-Secondary Animal Care Program preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in animal care (clinic, shelter, wildlife center, etc.)
  • A calm, confident presence with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Someone who can multitask under pressure and provide excellent client care
