Description Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available | Must be 18 years or older North Penn Animal Hospital (NPAH) is seeking a motivated, dependable Entry-Level Veterinary Assistant to support our room technicians and medical team. This is a hands-on support role focused on assisting technicians, maintaining cleanliness, and learning veterinary medicine from the ground up. No prior veterinary experience required; training is provided. About the Role This assistant position supports veterinarians and technicians during outpatient appointments and daily hospital operations while learning proper animal handling, medical procedures, and hospital workflow. Key Responsibilities Assist room technicians and veterinarians during exams and appointments Greet clients and escort pets to exam rooms Obtain basic patient information such as weight and temperature Safely restrain animals during exams and procedures Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms between visits Clean and maintain treatment, lab, and public areas Assist with routine lab work and prepare samples for outside labs Help prepare medications, vaccines, and supplies Accurately document procedures and assist with billing support Follow OSHA, DEA, and hospital safety protocols Assist team members as needed and perform other assigned duties What We’re Looking For Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply Must be 18 years of age or older Strong interest in animal care and willingness to learn Comfort with cleaning, organization, and physical tasks Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Frequent standing, walking, bending, and animal handling Benefits & Perks Health and dental insurance options for eligible employees Employer-paid life and disability insurance Paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees Uniform allowance 401(k) with employer match of 4% after eligibility period Employee Assistance Program Pet care accounts and employee pet food discounts Why Start at NPAH?
