JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a confident, compassionate, detail oriented and dedicated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. AVIMARK experience is an asset. This role involves assisting with various tasks in a veterinary clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Wage determined by experience and proficiency.
We are offering a full time position that requires availability to work days, evenings and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment.
• Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, conducting basic tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the system.
• Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including examination rooms, surgical areas, and waiting areas.
• Send and Receive inventory order through VPCL
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ care and treatment plans.
• Assist in scheduling appointments and managing inventory of medical supplies with use of Avimark, Microsoft and Reference Laboratory software.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant or in a similar role is required.
• Familiarity with Avimark is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care is essential.
