POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our team.
This dual-role position is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations, excellent patient care, and outstanding client service. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred
  • Customer service or reception experience considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy clinic environment
  • Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented approach
  • Physically able to lift and handle animals of various sizes safely

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability for morning, evening, and weekend shifts is required
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on clinic needs

Responsibilities

VETERINARY ASSISTANT DUTIES:

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with animal restraint and patient care
  • Prepare, clean, and restock examination and treatment areas
  • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, and comfort care
  • Support in maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment
  • Assist with inventory and supply management

RECEPTIONIST DUTIES:

  • Greet clients and provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently
  • Process payments and maintain accurate client and patient records
  • Communicate with clients regarding patient updates, medications, and follow-up care
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks to ensure smooth front desk operations
