OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and their owners. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary practices and animal care, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for both clients and their pets. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for animal welfare.

EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Kennel experience or animal husbandry knowledge.
  • Veterinary technician or assistant experience, including critical care exposure.
  • Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations and terminology.
  • Proficiency in animal handling, dog handling, and knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.
  • Experience with medication administration, animal catheterization, and laboratory procedures is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist with front desk operations, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries.
  • Handle animal restraint during examinations and treatments as needed.
  • Administer medications under the direction of veterinary staff.
  • Provide information on pet care, services offered, and general veterinary terminology to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and clinic.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Support the veterinary team in laboratory tasks and aseptic techniques as required.
