Taconic Veterinary Center, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for an experienced fulltime Veterinary Assistants to join our Team! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The role will involve assisting our veterinarians in both General Practice and Emergency Care settings. This is a dynamic position that requires flexibility, compassion, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but not limited to: * Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures * Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their owners * Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital and equipment * Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively * Participate in the care and feeding of hospitalized patients * Adhere to hospital core values, policies and procedures at all times * Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest standard of patient care Qualifications * Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is preferred * Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology * Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively * Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities * Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment * Flexibility to work weekends, holidays * Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff members * Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Taconic Veterinary Center, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is an equal opportunity employer.
