JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our supportive team at Elizavet, working overnight and out-of-hours (OOH) 2 to 3 nights per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience and grow their career in a dynamic overnight veterinary setting.
You will work closely with our experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses, providing essential overnight care for our patients. This role is ideal for a Veterinary Care Assistant who is passionate about animal care and interested in career progression.
As a practice committed to professional development, we aim to support the right candidate in their journey toward becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse, as soon as the clinic is able to facilitate studies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Care Assistant (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in animal welfare (required)
    Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
    Pay: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
    Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Safely handle and restrain patients, ensuring compassionate care at all times
  • Assist with overnight laboratory procedures (e.g. sample preparation, processing, packaging for external labs)
  • Maintain stock control in the pharmacy (unpacking deliveries, rotating and organising stock)
  • Provide supportive care under the supervision of the Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Assist with reception duties such as answering phone calls, processing payments, and booking appointments
  • Keep all areas of the practice clean, organised, and well-maintained
  • Monitor and support patient comfort and well-being during overnight hours
