About Us
Dr. Vetamin Primary, Referral & Emergency Veterinary Hospital is a modern, independent veterinary hospital in Ottawa. We are passionate about pets, medicine, and educating the community. We are launching a YouTube channel (Vetamin TV) to share real veterinary stories, patient cases, and practical health education with pet owners.
Role Overview
We are looking for a creative Content Creator / Videographer-Editor who can help us build engaging, documentary-style content for YouTube and social media. This is a part-time role ideal for a student, recent graduate, or freelancer who wants to grow their portfolio while working on meaningful, animal-centered storytelling.
Responsibilities
Film short video segments in-clinic (patient stories, behind-the-scenes, interviews, educational clips)
Edit raw footage into 5–10 minute YouTube episodes + short-form clips (YouTube Shorts, IG Reels, TikTok)
Add simple titles, captions, and background music where appropriate
Create attention-grabbing thumbnails and optimize videos for YouTube SEO
Work with the veterinary team to plan 1–2 shoot days/month and prepare a consistent release schedule
Maintain the YouTube channel and assist with cross-posting to social media
Requirements
Strong video editing skills (CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or Adobe Premiere Pro)
Basic filming knowledge (camera/smartphone, lighting, sound)
Creative storytelling ability and an eye for pacing
Familiarity with YouTube and social media content trends
Comfortable working around animals (dogs, cats, exotic pets)
Organized, self-directed, and able to deliver projects with minimal supervision
Nice to Have
Experience with graphic design or simple animation (titles, motion graphics)
Previous experience in documentary, journalism, or social media production
Interest in animals or healthcare content
Compensation & Schedule
Part-time, flexible hours (approx. 10–15 hrs/week)
Rate: $20–$30/hr (depending on experience) OR project-based fee per video
Hybrid role: some on-site filming in Ottawa + remote editing
