The Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a full- time Inventory Assistant to join our outstanding Veterinary Hospital team!
Compensation: $21 - $25/hr, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift, Monday - Friday

About the Role: The Inventory Assistant supports the inventory operations of the hospital by ensuring accurate stock levels of pharmaceuticals, medical, janitorial, and office supplies. This role helps maintain the inventory system, assists with receiving and stocking products, and collaborates with the Inventory Manager to ensure efficient supply management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in an inventory, warehouse, or healthcare support role preferred. Outstanding data analysis and sound working knowledge of common inventory management software, with the ability to accurately create reports.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, excellent organizational skills, time management skills, with an attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal & written, with doctors, coworkers, and vendors. Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of hospital supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment across all services. Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to ensure timely and efficient supply management. Assist with placing purchase orders under the direction of the Inventory Manager. Receive and check deliveries to ensure shipments match purchase orders and packing slips. Inspect incoming items for damage or discrepancies and report issues to the Inventory Manager or suppliers.
  • Accurately input received items into the inventory system. Perform routine checks to ensure the accuracy of inventory system data. Provide administrative support for inventory documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Help track inventory levels and notify the Inventory Manager of low stock or shortages. Communicate with hospital staff regarding stock availability and backorders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of supply storage areas. Support in organizing quarterly and monthly inventory counts. Assist with physical inventory rotation and shelf restocking. Help price shop and research vendors as directed..
  • Exhibit professionalism when interacting with staff, clients, and suppliers. Carry out written and verbal instructions reliably. Maintain flexibility in daily tasks and a proactive attitude toward workflow changes.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
