Description
Join our team to help provide outstanding health care to our diverse animal collection, including the second largest Australian captive koala population, and our tigers at Tiger Island. From preventative health care to disease investigations and involvement in research, every day at Dreamworld presents a new and exciting opportunity. As a veterinary nurse at Dreamworld, you will be an integral and valued member of our animal health team. You will be working alongside our experienced and passionate wildlife team in one of the largest native wildlife parks in Southeast Queensland, housing species such as cassowaries, Lumholt'z tree kangaroos, saltwater and freshwater crocodiles, bilbies, koalas, dingoes, emus, and many more! Dreamworld also boasts world-class attractions that create happy memories for millions of guests each year. A snippet of what we can offer: Opportunities to contribute to research projects: from assisting in data collection through to manuscript writing, depending on your interest and experience level. Work with an incredible variety of species in a workplace full of energy and purpose. Welfare-driven decision making with an emphasis on conditioned/voluntary behaviour wherever possible. Be part of a like-minded, collaborative, and highly skilled team. Build your zoo and wildlife nursing career at one of Australia's most recognised parks. In-house capabilities including (but not limited to): DR & portable X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, biochemistry, microscopy/cytology, anaesthesia, surgery, hospitalisation, remote drug delivery, a great library of medical and nursing textbooks, and record keeping through ZIMS. Excellent relationships with external specialist facilities to ensure our patients have access to all the care they need, including (but not limited to): stereotactic radiotherapy, CT, endoscopy, and specialist surgeons, anaesthetists, and internal medicine clinicians. Complimentary access to Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, and SkyPoint for you and your family. What you will be doing: Daily animal care across hospital, quarantine, back-of-house, and on-display exhibits. Assisting our veterinarians with cases including disease investigations, anaesthesia, surgery, and more. Maintaining healthcare records, stock, and resources. Supporting conservation, research, and welfare initiatives. Contributing to a safe, efficient, and positive team environment. This role is active and physically demanding, with plenty of hands-on animal work and collaboration across the wider Life Sciences team. What we are looking for: Cert IV or equivalent in veterinary nursing. Experience working with Australian native wildlife. Strong communication and organisational skills. Confidence working with people from diverse backgrounds. Manual driver's licence. Current Q-fever vaccination, or the ability to obtain one. Diversity and Inclusion At Dreamworld, WhiteWater World and SkyPoint, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone, guests and Team Members alike, feel valued and respected. We celebrate the cultural and personal differences of our team, representative of the diverse community in which we operate. By drawing on the unique talents and contributions of each individual, we create unforgettable memories for our guests. Our selection process may include a one-way video interview, face-to-face or group interview, health assessment, reference checks, criminal history check, and verification of your working rights. We are committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment experience, therefore you will be provided opportunity to advise of any accessibility needs or required accommodations, as you progress through the recruitment process. Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays, is essential. At Dreamworld, we are passionate about conservation, animal welfare, and creating memorable experiences for our guests — and we are equally passionate about creating a workplace where our people can thrive. If you are ready to take your veterinary nursing career somewhere truly unique, we would love to hear from you. Sound like your kind of wild? Apply online now!
