Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dependable and capable Veterinary Nurse/Receptionist to join our independently owned veterinary practice located in Alton, Hampshire.
We are a close-knit, professional team committed to delivering high-quality veterinary care. As an integral member of our practice, you will support our veterinary surgeons and admin staff, contributing to a smooth and effective delivery of a wide range of veterinary services.
Responsibilities
Veterinary nursing, inclusive of reception/admin duties. Assist with the handling and husbandry of animals during veterinary appointments and visits.
Monitor and manage veterinary stock levels, ensuring there is appropriate supplies of medication and equipment.
Answer the phone in a polite and friendly manner. Daily diary management.
Produce sales invoices and purchase bills on Xero, full training will be provided.
Contribute to the general efficiency and high standards of the practice through proactive and flexible support.
On occasions, we may ask you to drive to appointments, including occasional long-distance or overseas travel.
Requirements
Ideal candidate must be located within half an hour driving distance of the practice. Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 2 years of experience and excellent all-round nursing skills, along with a strong passion for animal care.
Substantial small animal veterinary nursing experience is essential; applicants must be confident handling animals including dogs, cats and horses in various environments.
A full/clean driving licence is required.
Strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to take initiative to work both independently and collaboratively.
A professional, yet approachable manner.
Flexibility to work variable hours, including agreed weekends as required.

Terms of Employment:
Full-time position.
Salary has been advised however is dependant upon experience.
Core working days: Monday to Friday, with agreed weekends as required.
Working hours may be varied depending on the needs of the practice.
Overtime compensated by either additional pay or time off in lieu.
