Description

Brighton Veterinary Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Veterinary Receptionist or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) to join our team.
We provide high-quality medical and surgical services for dogs and cats. We aim to create a friendly, inclusive work environment where every team member can shine, while striving for excellence in pet care and client communication. Duties will include:

  • Welcome clients and their pets upon arrival;
  • Answer client inquiries in-person or via email, text, phone, and on our social media channels;
  • Provide clear and concise information about the services and products offered by the clinic;
  • Collect and update client information in the database;
  • Schedule appointments;
  • Check in and out clients and their pets;
  • Process payments and handle financial transactions;
  • Keep the hospital (especially reception and the examination rooms) clean and tidy;
  • Assist with laundry, mopping, surgical instruments cleaning and sterilization;
  • Clean up after patients, walks dogs as needed, feed and clean patients as needed;
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in their daily duties;
  • Help hold animals while veterinarians are performing examinations;
  • Communicate effectively with the rest of the team to ensure smooth operations.

Your qualifications:

  • Experience as a medical or veterinary receptionist or veterinary assistant is preferred;
  • Experience and demonstrated excellence in customer service is preferred;
  • Experience working with animals is strongly preferred.

As the successful candidate, you have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure;
  • A positive attitude and a friendly disposition;
  • Superior work ethic;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to multitask effectively;
  • Proficiency in using computer software.

Part-time hours are available. Schedule may include weekdays between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm. Rotating or regular Saturday availability (9 am - 3 pm) is necessary.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications, and starts at $18/hour. We offer a flexible schedule, generous vacation allotment, health benefits and discounted pet care.
