VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our inclusive team here at Optivet Referrals.
Optivet is an independent practice providing first line 24/7 emergency care with expert emergency clinicians as well as providing a specialist referral service in Ophthalmology, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Anaesthesia.

Responsibilities

We are looking for Part time receptionists on the following shift patterns:
Saturday and Sunday week one 07:30 - 16:00, week two 10:30 - 19:00 on a rotating basis (16 hours)

The role consists of the following:

  • Welcoming clients to the practice and ensuring they are looked after immediately
  • Answering the phone, responding clearly to requests, booking client appointments using the system and sending out relevant information or directing them to the Optivet website where appropriate.
  • Handling emergencies (flow chart), liaising with vets to ensure the right course of action is taken.
  • Providing information for direct claims including disclaimers where required. Ensure you gather history to complete policy checks
  • Taking client payments
  • Completing admin tasks to support the service
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, referring vets and the public
