Royal Oak Pet Clinic is seeking a Full-Time** Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a local, privately owned, full-service, small animal veterinary practice in Victoria, BC. Candidates should have a professional attitude and be able to work well as part of a team or individually. Experience in customer service and previous animal handling is preferred.
As a Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for both clients and their furry friends.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
  • Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling appointments, managing records, and processing payments
  • Animal handling experience
    If you are passionate about animals, possess exceptional customer service skills, and have experience in a veterinary setting, we would love to hear from you. Please only apply if you are available and interested to work full-time hours (40 hours per week). Must be willing to work the occasional Saturdays. We offer a competitive wage (based on experience).
Responsibilities
  • Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar
  • Check-in patients, update client information, and verify insurance coverage
  • Collect payments for services rendered and provide accurate receipts
  • Assist with maintaining patient records
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, with light housekeeping duties.
  • Ensure a positive experience for both clients and patients within our hospital
