Description
Company Description The Centre for Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE) is seeking a registered specialist in veterinary radiology to become part of a dynamic, progressive and friendly team, in a high-volume, well-equipped hospital. CARE is a busy, multi-specialist veterinary hospital located in Collingwood, close to the Melbourne CBD. The central location allows easy access, at all hours, to the best food and coffee Melbourne has to offer, as well as proximity to the vast array of festivals, exhibitions and sporting events held throughout the year. The clinic was created with the goal to provide the highest standard of patient care and best possible patient outcomes, in a cooperative, team-oriented environment. The specialist medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging teams, as well as our large emergency department, work together to achieve these objectives for each and every patient we see. CARE is committed to providing a workplace that respects, supports and encourages the personal well-being and professional development of all staff. Existing diagnostic imaging facilities include: a new Siemens Multix Impact digital radiography suite, Phillips Affinity 50G ultrasound, Siemens Somatom 16-slice CT, Phillips BV29 mobile C-arm fluoroscopy with digital subtraction angiography and regular access to off-site 3T PET MRI imaging. Beyond this, there is a strong commitment to the continued expansion and advancement of on-site imaging facilities, with PACS system upgrades in process and future plans for high-field MRI installation. Job Description This position involves: Performance and reporting of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and associated procedures Provision of diagnostic imaging advice and interpretation of radiographs to facilitate case management within the hospital Interpretation and reporting of CT studies performed within the hospital when needed Occasional provision of staff continuing education and maintenance of diagnostic imaging protocols Advice on the purchase and upgrading of diagnostic imaging equipment and the ongoing expansion of existing imaging services at CARE Qualifications This position would suit a specialist (or residency-trained registrar) in diagnostic imaging, with a degree and qualifications registerable in Australia, who enjoys and values working collaboratively in a progressive and friendly team environment. Additional Information The structure of this position is flexible and negotiable, being either part or full time, and not typically involving after-hours work. The Internal Medicine Department currently provides ultrasound services, including echocardiography, allowing considerable flexibility with rostered days off and holidays. Ultimately, we aim to expand the radiology team, providing even more flexibility. There is great exposure to a large number and wide range of interesting and complex cases, particularly involving ultrasonography and the opportunity to interact with specialists in other disciplines and become involved in, and directly impact, case management and treatment outcomes. An attractive remuneration package would be negotiated, including four weeks’ annual leave (full time pro-rata). Generous continuing professional development allowance, in-house opportunities and annual study leave would also be part of the package. Inclusive and friendly work environment with an emphasis on well-being and work-life balance. Fresh fruit, snacks and an espresso machine with fresh local beans are provided in our large staff room. Relocation and visa support may be available for overseas candidates Central location in one of Australia’s most vibrant and liveable cities, with excellent educational and lifestyle opportunities.
