JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to perform a variety of surgical procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of veterinary medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVSc or equivalent) is essential, along with full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
• Previous experience in a veterinary practice is highly desirable, particularly in performing surgical procedures.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques and diagnostics is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
• A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all interactions.

• Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose conditions.
• Perform surgical procedures, including routine spays and neuters, as well as more complex surgeries as required.
• Administer anaesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Provide post-operative care and follow-up consultations for patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patients treated.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
• Educate pet owners on preventative care, treatment options, and post-surgical care instructions.
• Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuous professional development.
