BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team in Augusta, GA! **This position offers up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus based on experience** Pay: $19.50 - $38.50 / hour This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$3.00/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$3.00/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential As a Veterinary Technician, you will... Triage emergency cases upon arrival, obtain and interpret vital signs (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation), and promptly communicate abnormalities to the Veterinarian. Calculate and administer medications accurately, including advanced medical math and constant rate infusions (CRI) Perform phlebotomy and place, maintain, and monitor intravenous catheters (peripheral and central lines). Induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia, utilizing appropriate anesthesia and patient monitoring equipment. Perform digital radiography using proper positioning and technique. Identify patients at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest and initiate CPR as indicated. Set up, assist with, and maintain equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including ultrasound, radiology, and endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Place, maintain, and manage feeding tubes; provide related patient care and monitoring. Discharge hospitalized patients from Internal Medicine and Emergency services, providing client education including insulin administration, subcutaneous fluids, feeding tube care, and other at-home treatments. Maintain a strong understanding of normal vs. abnormal patient parameters and respond appropriately to changes in patient status. Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when addressing client concerns in both emergency and non-emergency settings. Support training and mentoring of fellow technicians and staff members. Clean, maintain, and properly store medical and diagnostic equipment following use. Perform additional relevant duties. Why BluePearl?
