BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with an MBA a plus.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE

PerkinElmer is seeking an executive with a broad-based financial background to lead its FP&A organization. The VP FP&A will be responsible for leading Perkin Elmer’s financial planning and analysis function overseeing all aspects of forecasting, budgeting, board reporting, cash planning and ad-hoc consolidated analysis. You will also work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support the growth and success of the business. This position reports directly to the PerkinElmer Chief Financial Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the right hand to the CFO and be a main point of contact with the sponsor, New Mountain Capital
  • Interface with the CEO and Executive Team on Finance-related matters
  • Lead financial planning and analysis across the platform, including long-range planning, forecasting, management reporting, and analyses of the financial performance of the platform.
  • Define and manage the monthly close process associated with forecasting, reporting and the Annual Operating Plan process.
  • Build-out consistent FP&A processes for financial reporting and financial modeling to maintain compliance and deliver guidance to owners and lenders.
  • Ensure proper measurement of value creation initiatives and translation to financial statements.
  • Build positive relationships across the finance and accounting teams with functional leaders across the Company and collaborate with internal and external partners to understand the business’s current state. Develop data-driven insights that can be understood and implemented to drive Company-wide goals and strategic directions
  • Evaluate company business unit and product portfolios and develop strategies to improve enterprise value by helping to set targets and develop a platform capital allocation strategy.
  • Responsible for the development and tracking of corporate key performance metrics (KPIs). Assemble key insights and takeaways and deliver recommendations to Company and sponsor leaders and executives.
  • Continually drive alignment and control into the spending process and improve quality of SG&A reporting.
  • Responsible for the creation and coordination of the monthly Board of Directors meeting materials and other reporting needed by Company and sponsor leaders including quarterly performance and annual operating plans.
  • Provide leadership in training and developing FP&A resources to build, retain and manage the performance of an effective team.
  • Establish clear return on investment (ROI) metrics for major business expenditures, advising on economic and strategic benefits.
  • Be a business partner to the CEO and functional leaders of Finance, HR, Communications, IT, and the Value Creation Office.
  • Prepare quarterly lender materials and MD&A.
  • Develop and use complex financial models and data-focused deep dive analyses to provide insight into business performance.
  • Lead FP&A transformation activities.
  • Lead and oversee technology implementation projects including IT strategy related to the FP&A function on a global basis.
  • Liaise with counterparts in other regions focusing on business continuity planning in order to perform planning and reporting of regional operations to the Executive team and the Board.
  • Drive the adoption of leading practices where possible, and seek ways to improve core FP&A practices.
  • Create a control and governance structure to comply with the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Act as the CFO’s deputy, when needed
